Here's a preview of some of the rosette felt flower pins I've been sewing for the show on Saturday at the Heritage Ranch Golf and Country Club. In addition to the floral, there will be original art collages and one-of-a-kind upcycled creations. If you're in the area, stop by and say hi.
The artwork of Terry Fan
Bad pun alert so don't say I didn't warn you. I'm a fan of Terry Fan. He's a Toronto-based illustrator with a unique style derived from a blend of traditional and digital methods. If you'd like to have some of his work grace your walls, you can purchase prints at society6.

Beautiful sewing cabinet refresh
Take a look at this gorgeous sewing cabinet refresh by Betsy Speert. I especially like the ruler stencil she used on the top and you can see the nitty gritty of how she did it on her blog. I've been searching for a new sewing box—the one I've had since I was nine years old bit the dust in our last move. I nearly cried. Now I'm thinking that upgrading to sewing cabinet is worth exploring after seeing Betsy's creation.

Yet another train case
Recently at the Dallas Flea, I scored a beautiful train case in bright red. While moseying around the Square in downtown McKinney, I ran across another beauty—a Samsonite train case with a sparkly blue tweed-like exterior. It was of course love at first site since this particular shade of blue always calls like a siren to me. (The sirens of greek mythology lore, not the fire-engine kind.)
Garbage bag ghosts
Halloween is my favorite holiday, but I wanted to try some upcycling for decorations this year. I realized with a circular piece of cardboard, a garbage bag and a twist tie, a very credible ghost could be created. Here's a photo of one blowing in the breeze. Now it's time to carve the pumpkin!
Upcycled sweater pumpkins and more
