The Architect Says Notebooks

I recently received a review package of "The Architect Says Notebooks" from Princeton Architectural Press. The set of three notebooks feature inspiring quotations on the cover from renowned architects Le Corbusier, R. Buckminster Fuller, and Cesar Pelli. The thick blue, covers are foil stamped in silver and the interior pages are gridded. The finishing touch is a contrasting stitched spine in white thread. These little beauties are perfect for sketching and note-taking. Want to win this set of notebooks?

Art Deco Mood Board

Style and mood boards are one of my favorite things to work on. Here's one for Nan Lee Jewelry showcasing their wedding day jewelry as part of an art deco wedding theme. Every designer has their favorite software for creating boards and my favorite is InDesign. Personally I find it faster to manipulate images and text in this app rather than Photoshop or Illustrator, but that's just me. What's your favorite software app?

For the love of florals

I love patterns and flowers, so when the two combine they're even better. Here are a couple of patterned floral business cards I've been working on. One has a more modern graphic pattern of tulip-like blossoms on a gray background and the other features a pink and chocolate palette on cream. Both designs are double-sided, include full-color printing with contact information on the back side of the card.

Upcycled Closet into Tiny Office

Space. There never seems to be enough of it in my home and running a studio out of your house encroaches even more on precious space and storage. Check out the job House Beautiful did on turning this very narrow closet into a tiny, but effective office space. Check out the full post here for the details and great photos of all the nooks and crannies.
