Emporium Pies
I love pie. I'll take pie over cake any day and when I learned that Emporium Pies is opening a location in downtown McKinney I danced a little jig. Then I took these photos and promptly bought a slice of pie. It was delicious. Mmmmm. Pie.

Mollie at Wild Olive has provided a perfect little stitching project for fall — a pumpkin spice latte pattern. This would make such a nice Christmas stocking stuffer.
Silhouette Necklace - JennyLeeFowler
Jenny Lee Fowler makes some lovely handmade items. These silhouette necklaces are cut paper sandwiched between glass and finished with an antiqued patina. I particularly like the bee.
Free vintage image - corset lady
This image is from a 1908 magazine advertisement for corsets. I'm so very glad fashion is more comfortable these days.

Cooking with what we have
We've been making a bigger effort lately to not waste food and be more creative with what we have instead of running to the store so frequently. This led to a tasty breakfast when I realized we were out of bread for scrambled eggs and toast. What we did have were several roma tomatoes about to be past their peak. This led to roasting them in the oven with a little olive oil and parmesan cheese and then topping with poached eggs.
Free vintage image - dancers
I love this image of a couple dancing from the 1920's. Isn't the trailing scarf detail on that dress pretty fabulous? Of course it would be in the dip or my soup if I tried to wear a style like that.
