Appliqué Tutorial by V and Co
Here's a wonderful appliqué tutorial by Vand Co. Don't worry, there are plenty of photos to walk even the most sewing-impaired among us through the process.
Being thankful
Yesterday was my birthday and I am so grateful for my friends who sent well wishes and funny texts throughout the day. I also received two really special gifts. My hubby surprised me with this painting by Gail Sloan that I've been eyeing for over a year in a local gallery. The other surprise was from a dear friend who presented me with the Collin County Junior League cookbook Lone Star to Five Star. I can't wait to dive in because no less than three people stopped us and commented on the cookbook as we were strolling around after dinner.
Book carving artists
I've been fascinated lately by the work of artists who specialize in book carving. Painstaking creations that deconstruct books one page at a time through precision cutting an carving.

Reinvented Doc Marten boots
I know this has been around a while, but I just ran across the image. These particular vintage Doc Marten boots were overhauled by Jasper Conran. To see all the designers and their interpretations click here.
