I want this book. Yes, I know it appears that I have it since I've obviously snapped a photo to post about it, but it's only borrowed from the library. The title is "Scripts - Elegant Lettering from Design's Golden Age" by Steven Heller and Louise Fili (she deserves an entire post). It is filled with the most marvelous examples of gorgeous typography. I haven't felt this kind of excitement since my first days in design school when every new visual exploration practically made you giddy. What can I say? I'm a font nerd.
Busy and then some
Do you ever get so busy you feel like you're living second to second? That's my reality at the moment, but I wanted to share a little room study I started working on in my spare (Ha!) time. Can you tell the dog is going to be a poodle?

Upcycled TV cat bed
Loving this upcycled TV cat bed. I've wondered what happend to all those old TVs as everyone has embraced flat screens. Very clever and very charming. Check it out at LuckyLenoreVintage.

Vintage Cocktail Recipe Brochure
Here's another recent find at the local flea market. I love these old promotional recipe books the spirits industry used to put out. This one has great illustrations and each spread is cut shorter than the next so when it's open to the middle as pictured above you see every recipe in the booklet at a glance. I think I'll mix up a few classic drinks for the holiday. Manhattan's perhaps Mimi? You know who I'm talkin' to. ;-)
