So the guest bedroom has languished. We tested 5 shades of green till we were finally satisfied and got the room painted, but we stalled after that on furniture and style. I believe I've found my muse. I ordered this pair of peacock wall hangings to build the rest of the room around. I'm not sure yet if I'll leave them black or paint them a new color. I found them in the Etsy shop of The White Pepper which specializes in Mid-Century Modern and other vintage goods.
Absence
I've been away because my father died last Friday. This is one of my favorite images of him from his days in the Navy. He was receiving a commendation for being sailor of the month back in 1964 and we never knew about it. My husband found the letter in the back of the frame holding this image as he was readying it for the memorial service. I will miss my dad deeply and feel as if the entire universe has shifted now that he's gone.
I'm not sure how I feel about the Facebook purchase of my favorite app, Instagram. Carmen's Blue Suede shoes is my current favorite creation.
