I'm finally making jewelry again after how many years—22. Holy crap how did that happen!? Wow. Time doesn't just fly, it reaches warp speed apparently. Back in art school I didn't always have the funds for copper, silver or gold, so I had to get creative with more affordable materials. There was a great family owned lumber suppy where I could get scrap brass, plexiglass and formica for practically nothing and so my dabbling with upcycling truly began a loooonnnnggg time ago. Here's a recent pair of earrings and my new DIY display case. Screen + picture frame + hot glue = pretty. For the time being, items will be sold in local boutiques, but my goal is to have an Etsy shop running by November.
Photo booth bash
It seems that throwing photo booth parties, or having one on hand for weddings, graduations, etc. are all the rage right now. Check out Little Retreats Esty shop for handmade "props" to give your subjects something to spice up their photos.
Chokers
I really dig chokers. My mom had a hot pink one with an embroidered butterfly back in the seventies that I loved to put on to play dress up. I love these chokers from Erin Banwell's etsy shop. Turns out he's located in Chico, Ca! We flew there twice for day trips with our fold-up bicycles. Great town, great people and obviously full of some great talent.
