I've been admiring yarn and felt wreaths for a quite a while. I like that they don't necessarily look too seasonal, so you can leave them up for longer periods of time. If you're a do it yourself type of person the top three wreaths can be made with help from a tutorial at Take Heart. If on the other hand, you'd rather not get within 50 feet of a glue gun you can find some lovely wreaths for sale at itz fitz! etsy shop.
Upcycled wrapping paper necklace
So here's another great tutorial from the talented Kolleen Kilduff of Design by Night. It's an upcycled wrapping paper necklace. I'm always hanging on to little scraps because they're too pretty to through away and now I finally have a use for them.
Felt Flower Bobby Pin Tutorials
I love working with felt and I love to stick crap in my hair. The more sparkly, the better. Here are a couple of really good felt flower bobby pin tutorials for those who feel the urge to get crafty. The left pin can be found at Design by Night and the right at All In One Day's Time.
Upcycled Sock Gloves
Theres a great tutorial over at Cut Out + Keep on making Upcycled Sock Goves. I find this particulary useful because most socks wear out in the heel and toe and this design uses the generally intact upper part of a sock.
ojo de dios — yarn "God's Eye"
Did anyone else make these ojo de dios or "God's Eye" in summer camp back in the day? This one was done by the talented Blair at Wise Craft. She made hers with PDF instructions from Jay Mohler. You can also purchase complete kits as well as the instructions in his Etsy shop. We used to make very simple ones in camp from popsicle sticks and leftover yarn colors that nobody wanted. This one is gorgeous.
